"Lady of Stavoren" was built in 1939 by Wildschutt & Sons of Gaastmeer, Holland. Although built in 1939 work was not completed as she was then kept in a barn for the duration of the war. The owner's family were evacuated to England during the war, the owner unfortunately was killed whilst serving his country. In 1951 his widow brought the boat by freighter to England where she was berthed at Teddington on the Thames.
